These disorders (and many others) have one thing in common… To varying degrees, each is caused or made worse by the inability of the hormone insulin to perform as it should—a condition largely within our control called Insulin Resistance. Odds are high if you’re suffering from these disorders, that you’re significantly affected by this condition.
We’re a member of The Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners. The SMHP™ represents researchers and practitioners working to improve the world’s metabolic health through education, training, and support of evidence-based nutritional approaches, including carbohydrate restriction, as a valid therapeutic option or intervention.
Personal, Weekly, One-on-One Coaching Sessions
Coaching sessions are not “lessons” or informational lectures. They’re personal, heartfelt conversations that help you learn from the things you did last week, clarify your individual goals for the upcoming week, get motivated, and be accountable to yourself.
- Targeting Struggles, Celebrating Successes: What went well last week? What didn’t? Coaches listen to and answer your questions. They provide the support you need to stay focused and move ahead.
- Achievable, Weekly Goal Setting: Our goal-setting framework accommodates individual needs. We’ve found that most action items fall under Your Nutrition, Your Behavior, and/or Your Plateaus. Your coach helps you set goals and you’ll conclude each session with a clear direction for the upcoming week.
- Course Content: Your coach will spend a few minutes each week during your private coaching session discussing the reading you’ve been doing that week inside our flagship course, Reversing Insulin Resistance in 90 Days.
- Your Needs: Your coaching session is your individualized time. You can take those visits in whatever direction you feel like will best help you achieve your goals. However, it’s important for you to know that we never want you to feel obligated to come to your coaching session with an “agenda” if you don’t want to. That’s why you’ve hired a coach. Your coach will be well prepared each week to follow up with you on the goals you set last week, to fine tune where needed, and to set specific new goals with you for the upcoming week.

“Is your nutrition program ‘keto’?”
Occasionally, someone slaps a “keto” label on us. Perhaps that’s because the concept of controlling carbohydrates (which we espouse) gets mistakenly equated with the buzzword “keto.”
Unfortunately, over the last few years, body builders and financial opportunists have jumped on the keto-craze bandwagon, tied the word to weight-loss gimmicks, and tarnished its meaning to a point where it has negative connotations among truth seekers.
It’s sad, actually, because some people now dismiss the whole scientific principle of ketosis out of hand.
Is ketosis the end-all-be-all for everyone? Of course not. But that doesn’t mean we don’t thoroughly understand and advocate some ketogenic principles when appropriate. Of course we do. It’s an important tool in our Insulin-Smart Eating toolbox. Some of the clients we coach who come to us seriously sick begin their healing through strict ketogenic principles, and then adjust as they learn to listen to their bodies and become mindful, intuitive eaters.
So, in answer to the question, “Are you guys ‘keto’?” Hmmm... Yes. Wait... Hmmm... No, at least not in the way today’s average joe-on-the-street thinks about the word “keto.”

“After starting, can I change my coach or quit?”
Yes, of course.
One of our core values is that we never want anybody to pay for something that they don’t consider highly valuable. That’s why there are no contracts and no penalties if you want to quit.
Also... If for any reason you’d like to work with a different coach, we’re happy to do our best to accommodate that based on schedule availability. No weird feelings. 😉
“Will my insurance plan cover my nutrition coaching?”
Typically, no. Sorry. However, most HSA plans allow you to use those benefits to pay for your nutrition coaching.
