Shelby Johnson is both a Certified Insulin IQ Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer, certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
At Insulin IQ’s Authorized Coaching Facility in Orem, Utah, she leads fitness classes for small groups and conducts one-on-one fitness coaching—specializing in strength conditioning for athletes. Shelby often coaches Insulin IQ clients who are struggling with comorbidity, focusing on the nutritional and behavioral changes that make a difference.
She loves sharing her passion for training and nutrition and she’s always finding new ways to inspire and motivate her clients. Shelby understands that every client’s journey is personal, and that fine tuning helps that person truly create their healthiest self.
Shelby was born and raised in Parker, Colorado. She has participated in sports her whole life and has always enjoyed being outdoors.
At a young age she understood that what she ate and how hard she trained would affect the way her body performed and the way she felt. Shelby earned her bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in exercise and wellness with a minor in business. She also excelled in collegiate lacrosse at BYU where she lead the team as captain her junior and senior year. After graduating, Shelby went on to become the team’s head coach for three years.
Shelby is married with two beautiful children, ages eight and one. She loves being a mom and teaching her kids healthy habits. Other favorite pastimes include traveling the world, meeting new people, and trying new foods! Together with her husband, she’s always planning their next adventure—so, if you ever want to chat about traveling, she’s always up for it!
