Richard Hart is one of the original cofounders of Insulin IQ. He has a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Brigham Young University. He is also a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Rich is the owner of Insulin IQ’s flagship authorized coaching facility in Utah (Elevate Fitness and Rehabilitation). He’s been coaching clients through our program for over seven years. He’s passionate about teaching the relationship between insulin control and overall health! He understands and teaches the importance and power of intuitive eating.
Rich began his low-carb journey because of a need for overall health and improved ultra-distance running performance. The benefits he saw provided a natural transition for helping Insulin IQ clients. Rich has seen hundreds of clients change their lives through Insulin-Smart Eating.
Rich was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He played football, basketball and ran track in high school. This is where his passion for sports and training originally came from. When he moved to Utah he fell in love with triathlon, mountain biking, road bike racing, and ultra-endurance competition. After doing his first Ironman Triathlon (with another Insulin IQ cofounder, Jack Hadley) he was hooked! Eating a low carb nutrition plan and becoming fat adapted has been a huge benefit for him personally in his training. And while he loves the personal benefits, his biggest satisfaction comes from seeing his Insulin IQ clients change the direction of their health by managing their insulin.
Richard is married, has four children and one grandchild who is the apple of his eye. One of his greatest joys is being a grandpa. He loves his family and loves spending time with them—especially outdoors. One of his favorite places to be on earth is walking hand in hand with his wife on the Oregon coast. It’s home, away from home.
